It’s now been a little over one year since I took the trip of a lifetime, and it’s about time I share some of these photos with y’all!
Last summer, my blogger / social media influencer friends Jenn (aka Haute Off The Rack) and Krystal (aka A Pinch Of Lovely) flew me halfway across the world so I could take photos for them on an insane two-week adventure in Europe. When I met and started working with these girls a couple of years ago, I had no idea how lucky I was getting! Talk about landing a dream job!
Our trip started off with our flight landing in Rome, Italy. With the insane time difference from back home and zero sleep on our long flight (thanks to crying babies), we were all severely jet-lagged… But we only had one day to explore Rome, so we powered through the exhaustion and saw the sights!
The perfect example of Instagram vs. Reality — crowded by tons of other tourists, gelato melting at lightning speed, but we still go the shot! 🙂
Fun fact: I was so exhausted halfway through the day of touring Rome that I fell fast asleep on the front steps of one of the gorgeous churches we visited. They told me my shirt was too revealing to go inside the church, so I happily stayed behind and took a power nap alone on the steps. Probably not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but your girl was not making the best decisions going on 24 hours with no sleep! I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. People who know me personally know that I have a gift for falling asleep anywhere easily, but sleeping in public amidst tons of tourists was a whole new level of sleepy even for me LOL. Glad I survived without being robbed, because now it makes a pretty good story!
Overall review of one day in Rome:
Insanely amazing history and architecture. So glad I got to visit this city and experience it in person! But be forewarned, this is probably the most tourist-heavy city I’ve ever visited. If you go in the summer, you will most likely be shoulder to shoulder with other tourists most of the day!
This was just the first day of a two-week long trip, and I plan to keep these posts coming until I finish covering the entire trip! The real fun began the next day when we made it to our villa in Tuscany! Stay tuned. 🙂
