Rebecca + Brett | Ormond Plantation Wedding | Destrehan, La.

Rebecca was a special bride for me because she and I studied photography and graduated from LSU together in 2013.  We took several classes together throughout our journey to getting our BFAs, so we got to watch each other grow into skilled photographers.  Once she moved away to New Orleans after graduation, I continued to follow along with her work on Instagram.  I’ve always admired her eye for landscapes/cityscapes, so I loved seeing the photos she’d take in Nola!  She is a talented documentary photographer, so be sure to follow her and see what I mean!

So needless to say… The day that Rebecca asked me to be her wedding photographer was a humbling one!  Being asked to take photos for another photographer is such a huge compliment and honor!  I was so excited to get the job.  I knew because of Rebecca’s style and wonderful personality, it was going to be such a good one!  And I was totally right about that!

Brett and Rebecca are one of those couples everyone loves.  They are kind, easy-going, fun, and adventurous.  On top of them just being awesome, they are so in love with each other.  We were a perfect match for each other!  Their wedding was themed around travel and adventure, and all of the details and decor were personalized to fit the couple.  It was so perfect for them, and that’s what all the little details at wedding should be about.

It was an amazing day to be a part of.  It was a rare day in May when the weather was PERFECTION.  All of their friends and family were so kind, and they definitely knew how to have FUN.  Everyone danced the night away to disco music.  It was a blast to document it all.

Since the wedding, Rebecca and Brett have moved to Denver, Colorado, to start a new adventure together.  Thank goodness for social media, because I love following along to see all the fun things they are up to over there!  I’m so happy that I got to be a part of their story.  It was a wedding that I won’t forget.
