I remember years ago when I first started studying photography at LSU… I would post some of my black and white photography on Facebook for my friends and family to see. Taylor would “like” my photos and leave sweet, encouraging comments (which were greatly appreciated, because I really didn’t know what I was doing back then! LOL). In 2014, Taylor left a comment on my new “official” Facebook business page saying,
“Looking through some of your work, at least three times I actually said ‘wow’ out loud. You’re so good. I’m sure you know that, but just thought I’d reinforce the facts. I hope I have a memorable moment that needs photographing some time soon. I’ll definitely be contacting you!”
I hoped she was serious because Taylor is such a kind, easy-going, and beautiful person. I knew she would be a dream to photograph!
Fast forward to 2016… Taylor gets engaged to Stewart and sends me an email not long after! I was so excited! I think it’s so cool how that came full circle, and she really was serious about having me capture her one of her life’s most important moments. That makes me feel SO honored and SO grateful.
This wedding day was one of the most calm / laid-back / relaxed wedding days I’ve ever been a part of. It was almost eerie how NOT stressful the day was! Everything was so beautiful, including the ceremony itself. Then, the beautiful reception transformed into one hell of a party! I have to say that The Phunky Monkeys are one of my new favorite wedding bands! I had a blast documenting Taylor and Stewart dance the night away with their guests.
Here are some of my favorite moments from Taylor and Stewart’s wedding day on January 14, 2017. Enjoy! xo
