Engagement

Erin + Jason | Engagement | Lake Charles, La.

Have I ever told y’all how much I love photographing my friends?  I’m at the age where most of my friends are getting engaged and married, and I genuinely love being able to take photos of my girls with their future husbands!  It makes me so happy to see them find such happiness with another person.

Erin is an old friend that I had a lot of fun with back in high school.  (Probably too much fun!)  We don’t see each other often now that we’re all “grown up” and she lives in Lake Charles, but it’s always a good time when we get together!

The day we met for our shoot was the first time I was meeting Jason.  I was excited to meet the guy that was going to be Erin’s husband!  I told her I was afraid she would have changed or acted differently since it had been so long since I’d seen her (about 2 years!) — but nope, she is still the same funny girl I knew in high school!  She found her perfect match in Jason.  In Erin’s own words, “He’s just as weird as me!”   I love that so much.

We caught up and had some drinks to take the edge off before we started shooting.  (An excellent idea, by the way!)  We finished up our session at Lake Prien Park — a spot that was special to them because it was where Jason had once a planned a romantic picnic for Erin — a picnic made up of Popeye’s fried chicken.  Now, that’s my kind of romance.

We shot until after the sun went down, and the results are pretty magical!  I love how their photos turned out!  Here are my favorite shots.
